On May 19th, 2011 at the Scuola Grande di San Rocco, in Venezia, Italy, will be held the "2nd International Conference on interoperability" and the "Information day on interoperability". During the conference, significant experiences from Italy and other European Member States will be presented and discussed aiming at promoting the implementation of interoperable Emergency Management Systems for improving citizens' safety in Europe.
The conference will focus on the impact of interoperability on first responders' response, current preparedness, open issues and room for improvements, as well as the recent evolution of International, European and National applicable standards and protocols, up to the forthcoming publication of the Italian Fire Corps profile of the Common Alerting Protocol. In the afternoon, the Information day will focus on EC R&D initiatives, efforts and results on the interoperability theme, including a dedicated session on noteworthy R&D projects co-funded by the EC.
